The Best Movies I Saw in 2021
1 min readJan 11, 2022
In 2021, the ongoing pandemic provided ample opportunities for movie-watching and I got to watch a lot of cool stuff this year. I don’t stand behind this list very strongly on account of the number of great films I still haven’t watched. Nevertheless, here are the films I enjoyed the most this year:
- The French Dispatch
- The Green Knight
- Bo Burnham: Inside
- Pig
- The Power of the Dog
- Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street
- Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar
- The Last Duel
- Petite Maman
- The Sparks Brothers
Honorable Mentions:
- Get Back (it’s only not on the list because it‘s technically a miniseries and not a “movie”)
- Titane
- Drive My Car
- Last Night in Soho
Have Not Yet Seen:
These are movies that didn’t make the cut because I didn’t get around to seeing them:
- Licorice Pizza
- The Tragedy of Macbeth
- The Harder They Fall
- C’mon C’mon
- West Side Story
- Benedetta
- Luca
- Encanto
- The Lost Daughter
- The Mitchells vs. the Machines
- The Card Counter
- Tick, Tick… Boom!
- Boiling Point
